“Chickette” is product of Kellogg-Worthington Inc. It’s a frozen, pre-cooked vegetable protein roll that is similar to the white meat of chicken. It is incredibly ease to use – just defrost, slice or break into pieces, and use in any recipe calling for cooked chicken. I’ve found that half a roll will usually suffice for one recipe. Just refreeze unused portion.
I’ve used it for casseroles, stir-fry, soups, stews, tacos and chicken salad. I’ve even made my own “chicken nuggets” with it. This is the most versatile meatless product that I know of. You are limited only by your imagination.

Between $4 and $6, depending on where you buy it.
Where to get it:
Unfortunately, grocery stores do not carry it. (At least none that I know of.) Most health food stores will special-order Chickette, if they don’t already have it in stock. (Some will give a discount if you buy a case of it.) Also, a good place to buy Chickette is from the food section of Seventh Day Adventist thrift stores.
This is a great product! For the life of me, I can’t understand why Kelloggs-Worthington doesn’t market it better!
