If you're like me, there are certain foods that you crave. Whether it be for comfort when you're feeling down, a celebratory meal like your birthday, or one of those "must haves" during the holidays. They are just wonderfully delicious foods you automatically go for.
For me, I love mashed potatoes! Especially when it has little lumps in it. It's the perfect accompaniment to roast chicken or homemade meatloaf. Make a nice big mound of it and add a pat of butter or spoon your favorite gravy over it.
For something special, add peeled garlic cloves to the water at the same time the potatoes are cooking. When the potatoes are tender, just simply mash both together. Stir in whole milk and butter for added richness. And when you're having that meatloaf dinner, why not try sprinkling on some freshly grated Parmesan cheese on those potatoes?
When it's all said and done, there's nothing like a forkful - or spoonful, of your favorite food.
