Basic First Aid

This is a description of first aid. Do not attempt. They are written to give you an idea of how first aid is done.

If you are on a campout with your family, and your brother gets a large cut, what do you do? There are no hospitals around, and all you have is a little first aid kit. This is a place to know first aid. Please do not attempt any of these for you have to see it to understand it.

Let's get down to business. Say your friend has a heart attack. What type of First Aid do you administer? What you do is you apply CPR. For CPR, what you do is, if an AED is available, tear off the victims clothing you place your right hand over the left and hold the left hand. Place your hand over the chest and push it down about an inch. Repeat twenty times. Now, quickly, breath into their mouth, turn your head, and repeat fifteen times. Repeat each step until help arrives.

Now for the Heimlich maneuver. If someone chokes on something this is what you use. Most people mistake it for CPR, but it is the Heimlich maneuver. What you do, is you tilt the head back. Then you find the bottommost rib and place your right hand over the left hand. Remember, this is the description for if they are already unconscious. Place the hands in the described area. Push four times as hard as you can. Do not be afraid to hurt them. One they are unconscious and two you need to apply great force for it to work. Push four times ONLY because there is only enough gasses in the stomach to force out so much.

For a head wound, you stop the bleeding.

For a broken arm, leave it to the doctor, but make a makeshift splint and sling for him until you can get him to the hospital.
