Blessed

Mi-Na counts her blessings.

Author's Notes: Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!

Mi-Na and Hwang are a trademark of Namco.

The sky glowed a deep orange-red as a cool breeze blew, the majestic sun setting on the horizon. Mi-Na looked up into the sky, taking it all in, feeling melancholy and alone. She was just outside her estate, taking a walk around her home. She was dressed in a red hanbok, looking lovely as ever. She noticed a tree filled with scarlet and yellow leaves, radiating intense color. She closed her eyes, letting her thoughts wander to a certain young man, remembering how his hand felt on hers, remembering the way he would look at her.

She felt tears welling up in her eyes, causing her to angrily wipe them away. She missed Hwang terribly, who was away with the Coastal Defense Force, busy preparing for war, defending Joseon. She felt incredibly helpless, trying to be strong, never expecting to miss him as much as she did. She missed the private conversations they would have together, the way he would listen to her every word, making her feel special - special to him. Oh how she longed to be in his presence, to be near him, to feel his breath on her cheek.

Mi-Na then noticed a branch on the ground, full of vibrant colored leaves. She picked it up with a dainty hand, admiring its beauty and elegance, admiring its simplicity. This was nature's precious gift. The symmetry and color of the leaves made it seem so wondrous and magical. The leaves seemed to glow, giving off a warmth. She somehow felt comforted by it. She was blessed, Mi-Na realized. She was blessed to have a father who loved her so dearly, despite being incredibly strict. He did it out of love, wanting to protect her. She was blessed to be taught by her father in the martial arts, blessed by his wisdom and knowledge. She was blessed to have a beautiful home to live in, a place to feel safe and warm. She was blessed to know Hwang, the man who selflessly stood by her side, defending her, protecting her from harm. She was blessed by his friendship, to have a shoulder to cry on, for him always being there for her. She was blessed...

"Hello little Mi-Na."

Mi-Na spun around. It was as if she had wished him into life. There he stood, her gallant warrior, several feet away, gazing at her with his dark, smoldering eyes, a smile on his handsome face.

"Oh, Hwang!" Mi-Na exclaimed.

She ran into his arms, kissing his face. He would lift her up, holding her in his strong arms as she continued to rain kisses on him. Then her mouth met his, kissing him tentatively, hesitantly. He looked into her luminous eyes, searching, yearning. He kissed her back, kissing her with such urgency that it thrilled her.

Oh how she had missed him! To be in his arms now, she could not have been any happier. Tears welled up in her eyes again. Hwang stopped to look at her, touched by her tears. He gently brought her back down to the ground. He would wipe her tears away with his fingers, whispering softly to her, comforting her.

"I missed you so much Hwang!" Mi-Na cried. "I was so afraid that I would never see you again!"

"Shh Mi-Na... I am right here." Hwang said gently to her, stroking her cheek. A tear fell on his thumb, forming a perfect drop on it. He brought it to his mouth, tasting its bitterness, causing Mi-Na to gasp. He kissed the other tears away, softly caressing her with his lips. She gave a small moan.

Hwang held her face in his hands, gazing at her, a look of intense longing in his eyes. She placed her tiny hands on his, gently stroking it.

"I never expected you to come back." Mi-Na said softly, looking so innocent, feeling rather shy.

"I will always comeback little Mi-Na," Hwang replied, "comeback to you always."

She buried her head in his chest, clinging to him. She wanted to stay like this forever, forever in his embrace, in his warmth. He would hold her tight, murmuring sweetly to her. There had been so many nights where she would dream about this, she could not believe this was actually happening. She suddenly looked up at him.

"Are you a dream?" Mi-Na asked.

Hwang smiled affectionately at her. "No, Mi-Na. I am not a dream. I am right here with you. In fact, I never left you." He placed a hand over her heart. "I am here with you always, little Mi-Na. You always take a piece of me with you everywhere."

Mi-Na placed her hand on his, moved by his words. She closed her eyes as he lowered his head toward hers, kissing her.

I am truly blessed, Mi-Na thought to herself, as their kisses become more insistent, more fervent.

So truly blessed, she said to herself, drowning in their kisses, drowning in their love.

This would be a night to remember.
