Christmas is a very cheerful time of the year for people all around the world. But, this one Christmas day wasn't a good day for young Turk, Malama (his mother), and Fathmin (his father). This Christmas was different from every other.
“Turk!” Malama yelled “Come down here and see what's on the news.” Turk suddenly came bolting down the stairs; trying to remember the last time his mother had called him to watch the news at 8:03 A.M on a Christmas day. Turk remembered the one time his mother called him to watch the news when someone fell off their bike and cracked their head open because he didn't have a helmet on. But that was to prove how dangerous it is to not wear a helmet, and that was at 9:00 A.M.
“Where's daddy?” he asked as he sat down and looked at his mother.
“He's at work right now,” she replied “but look at what's going on in this city. It's important for you to know.” When he turned to the television screen it had a whole paragraph of news to read at the bottom of it.
This Christmas day, it read a thief has hacked into Mrs. Apricott's security system in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 1889 Penn street. This thief was successful in stealing her diamond necklace, emerald ear rings, credit card, and most of her other valuables. If you see this thief please contact your local police station and give all the information you can of this man/woman.
“That's Pam's house!” Turk yelled in a both angry and sad voice when he saw the picture of the house. Pam is a common friend of Turk's at school. “Who would do this on a Christmas morning?” Turk added.
Turk's mother tried to take his min off this horrible tragedy by letting him open his presents early (which were usually opened when his father came back from work), but it was too horrible to forget. Turk had gotten all the toys and games he has always wished for but these couldn't even get his mind off this tragedy.
It was finally bedtime for Turk. As he settled on his bed he tried to remember what had caused him to change like that, but he had fallen asleep before he could.
The next morning he awoke from his deep sleep at the same timing as the other day to watch the news.
“What the?!?” he said in a confused way “Why does it say it's Christmas again?” he asked himself, when he read the caption titled The Second Burglar, On The Second Christmas.
This Christmas day there was another burglary. But this one was at 1888 Penn street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This time it was at a different address but same city and state! It's also the house right across the street from us because our house's address is 1887 Penn street.
“Wait a minute!” Turk thought and ran towards the calendar “It's the 26th! Yesterday was Christ-Ch-Chriest-Christmas!” he said struggling with saying the word Christmas because of all the burglaries in it. He suddenly started to run up the stairs to his bedroom and put his head down on his pillow. He closed his eyes and only thought of sleeping. But why would he want to go to sleep right now in the afternoon?
As Turk fell asleep he also wished to have a dream, but not just one of those ordinary dreams. A dream that will let him see the future, but in the shape of a nightmare.
This wasn't just a nice psychic dream about what's going to happen the next day, as I already told you it's a bad nightmare. A nightmare that you can never dream of, except this one…
He saw a child sitting on the couch, and looked exactly like Turk in the same type of living room as he has, looking straight at the television screen. He spotted a word on the screen with the exact word of Christmas. He suddenly headed right to the calendar and mouthed something like 27th, but in a confused sort of expression.
BOOM!!! The small figure of Turk turned around to look at the door to see a man in front of the opened door wearing all black cloth, and was no one he knew. That was the end of his dream.
Once his dream ended he woke up and saw that it was 9:00 in the morning. He felt that he should follow what he had done in his dream, so he went down to the living room and opened the television to match the channel that he had seen in his dream. He spotted the word Christmas and moved toward the calendar.
“My dream was true! The calendar says it's the 27th and the news says it's Christmas!” Turk thought.
BOOM!!! Turk suddenly looked at the door and saw the man he had seen in his dream, wearing the exact clothing. Once he had seen the man he ran up the stairs to awake his mother, but she already was awakened by the loud noise of the door and waited for her son to come and tell her what it was. He reached the top of the stairs, with the man running after him, and went towards the phone to dial 9-1-1 as his mother took care of the man.
Finally, the police officers came into the house and the man tried to escape but there were no entrances that weren't surrounded by the officers and the man had been captured and taken outside into one of the officer's cars.
They were thanked by the head sheriff of the police department for capturing the thief that has robbed 2 houses and almost three and were granted each a medal for his father mother and Turk himself. The medal read “The family that has taken care of our biggest problem.”
