Mulder wanted everything to be perfect for her. This was a special day so he had scented the room with aromatic oils. As a final touch he scattered shelled sunflower seeds across the bed, the warmth of his affection landing with each one. Was it too much, would she like it? The longer he waited for his arrival, the more he doubted himself. He hadn't realised just how tense it was until there was a knock at the door.
He opened it to reveal Scully, slightly dishevelled and carrying dinner. Her arms were full so she had to put down the take away before they embraced. He held her tightly, stroking her hair and kissing the top of her head. He was so lost in the moment that he was shocked when she broke away to shut the door.
“That was a warm welcome.” Scully smiled delightfully.
She was smiling for him. His heart leapt.
She tilted her head, in deep contemplation. “I didn't know you were cooking. Something smells glorious.”
Her sensitive aquiline nose picked up the source of the scent, her dainty feet leading her towards the bedroom. Mulder followed, transfixed by her grace. She stopped just short of the bed, her hand covering her mouth.
“Mulder…” she gasped. How had he known about her secret passion? Had he seen the way she was driven to distraction each time he ate a sunflower seed? She bit her lip, trying to think about their dinner cooling in the other room. It was in complete contrast to the heat she could feeling her cheeks, the blush growing across her chest. She looked up at him, seeking permission. He nodded.
She gingerly reached out a hand, moaning involuntarily at the precision with which the seeds pressed against her skin. She put down the other hand and it completed the circuit of her pleasure. Her knees buckled and she laid her head down on the bed.
“Oh,” she murmured as the seeds lightly brushed her lips. Her eyes flashed the brightest blue Mulder had ever seen.
She began to shed her clothes with an economy of movement that took Mulder's breath away. But it was still too slow, each precious moment of delay causing her a thousand agonies. He reached out to help. His hand brushing her lower back made her gasp.
Unable to resist any longer she threw herself onto the bed, her back caressed by each individual seed. She moved gently, her eyes closing to better appreciate the sensation. The heady aroma of the crushed seeds spread a new warmth through her. Her breath came in gasps as she began to writhe uncontrollably. The edges of her body blurred with the movement and her hair was tousled and streaked with sunflower oil. In her passionate frenzy she turned to her front, revealing the sheen that now covered her. Her moans were muffled by the mattress as her fingers raked desperately through the perfumed sheets.
Mulder had never seen anything so erotic in his life. He resisted the urge to lick her spine, knowing how it made her convulse. They would share this moment without touching, a perfect display of her love for him. And his for her.
“Oh Mulder!” Her eyes met his for an intoxicating moment before the final waves of pleasure knocked all coherency from her body. Her back arched as a scream of long repressed desire escaped from her scarlet lips. She shook, each inch of her body as vivid as her fiery hair.
He had never seen this side of her before and would forever relish the memories of her sweet surrender to unspoken fantasy. She lay breathless, so fragile and beautiful he couldn't take his eyes from her.
This minor eternity passed too quickly. Scully's eyes opened to see the love an acceptance in Mulder's. There was no need for explanation. She reached out for him, her arm still limp. He lay beside her, his body heat and his love surrounding her. They drifted to sleep in perfect unity, the scent of sunflowers in the air.
