The Wilderness Guardians: A RuneScape Clan

At level 93, I saw the Wilderness Guardians, strong, a powerhouse, just seemed like the ultimate clan.

The picture of the Wilderness Guardians dancing at Party Pete's, took me away. I never knew what WG really was, why I really wanted to join it. In the future, it would be a clan I would love and hate for all that it is. It all started with Jesusislord6, his videos of The Wilderness Guardians Vs. Dead on Arrival and the steel war versus Moriquendi, I never saw anything like it. I saw the requirements were 100+, and thought, I could never be 100.

August 31st, 2006.

I saw an opening for me. I had 101 combat, could be beneficial to the clan I always wanted to join. I thought, “Yes! Finally, maybe I could meet Jezzamon or Jesusislord6.” Greatly disappointed when they left, but was still surprised The Wilderness Guardians were still alive, I applied and Tezza Rulz12 was probably the only one nice to me within the clan. As I joined, I saw many respected members of the community such as Phoenom, Caption Spik, 1 Kingpin 1, Horito, or maybe that was just me. I tried fitting in, I swear I did, but my WG experience was horrible. I went P2ping one day when WG was once known for P2ping at a great extent. Not only did I love fighting nMe, I simply loved being, WG.

At one point near October 2006, I found my place in the clan I suppose. I no longer had doubts of quitting and loved P2p. One day I heard Tnuac, as a forum moderator saying, “We're going to prove we can F2p too” as we were heading out on a P2p raid. I still remember to this day, I wore an antidragon shield to the nMe fight and I loved Kenshln's way of leading.

Nearing October 2006's ending, we fought the Black Knights and was victorious. I believe, His Lordship, was near giving up with WG. I still have a picture, walking and deathmarching down in victory chanting, “For lordy.” I was at many raids, KF raids, WG Vs. Echo of Silence, when we could actually match up to them. I loved everything, how everything was set up. We started F2ping and I created a cartoon as where many people laughed. It said that while in P2p, we can get 200+ options, while in F2p, we can only get 50 options. I would never know that the tables would completely turn in the future. WG started F2ping and got our name out there with the BK War as our greatest victory in 2006.

The Annual Ball, I can still remember, I helped out in distributing items. Jendy won the race back to Ardougne, people cussed at me for not trading them first for the item to the next location, it was pretty fun. In the end, Creamlistner, Robbiethe2nd, one other member, and I created the Annual Ball newspaper consisting of pictures from the fireball fight to the race back home, to people once again saying, “For lordy!” Yes, those were great times. I was proud to have been a part of the Newspaper team, for the 1 month it lasted. Within this time, I had quit 3 times, at a success rate of 100% because either I felt left out or of the drama that happened.

Operation Purple Haze, nearing December, we all thought it was great. 90 percent and higher said they wanted requirements raised. Operation Purple Haze had a nice banner for WG created by Samurai Jm and people were training to help WG. I still think this is fantastic, the day that WG closed, and WG pulled 230+ options to the Main Raid that same day. I think that was the greatest F2p raid, no one dying, constant kills, and in the same day, it was WG's death that was being awaited. We awaited in #wg, Tmal34 was anxiously waiting with the clan for His Lordship's arrival as he had said if WG did not shape up in about one day, he would close the clan.

We thought: everything was in order. OPH was going at a steady rate, no drama, there was a successful main raid that night, and all was well, until His Lordship made his appearance. Tmal34 talked to His Lordship and His Lordship believed that the clan suffered from not fighting enough community. The clan closed down that day in an epic fall. One hundred and twenty members had left the clan when it was reopened two hours later.

2007: Just Another Day

After the hard blew WG took, it was time to shape up. His Lordship promised that WG would be fully restored back to nearly 120 members and awesome community by February 31st, 2007. Many promises made yet too many gone. Near March, Tmal34 re-introed to WG and extensively helped out the clan in various ways whereas everyone just loved Tmal. In June, he was re-promoted to Council. The only major thing happening from WG's time from January to July was the rebuilding of WG and the Fidelity Castlewars fight. His Lordship commanded his clan to go to Castlewars where Draken Burst was hosting a Castlewars that many clans would be invited to.

However, WG was unwelcome and His Lordship was made fun of and used as a scapegoat by his own members on RuneScape Community. The reason for the crashing was because Stokenut (ex-Wilderness Guardian) went to Fidelity and returned back to WG to tell them in a very solemn post saying that he left WG because Draken forced him to. Draken and Stokenut were going out through a RuneScape relationship and Draken nearly caused Stokenut his real life. Stokenut fought with Draken because one day Stokenut logged on and he did not say hi to Draken.
