When you're down and out no one seems to notice you and everything seems to be against you but when your up and about, everyone's your best friend or your most loyal fan. I never understood why people said, “the strong survive and the weak…” but I later came to realize it was the bitter truth. I also realized that everyone's a killer in their own way so who really a criminal?
Being broke was no joke to me but I was happy unlike most because I was a fighter and I would not circum to it's demands. Being broke is a criminal act in the making because when your broke and no one wants to give you a chance you learn to work with what you got. You also learn to embrace that rule keeping at foremost part of the brain if you want to live or else pain and suffering would plague your life.
Most criminal's never intended on being a criminal but got caught in the “struggle”. Now the struggle is different for everybody but to me the struggle was becoming successful in life and who wouldn't want to be? I sold drugs and resorted to other things to accomplish my goal because even though I looked for a job everyday, there was never a beacon shining in my direction.
It's funny how you could do some of the most immoral and vile acts and the act you get booked for is incomparable but I must thank God, I guess. At nineteen years old when I retired from the badness I was harassed by the police and taken down for a bag of weed which I never possessed. I know now that jail is not a nice place.
Many people I knew growing up were locked up and some are still locked up to this day. A lot of the people I saw arrested growing up were in violated and could not defend themselves. Who could defend themselves against the United States Of America when your broke, everyone's against you and most of all you don't know your rights.
“A marijuana smoker is locked up every 45 seconds,” and there are more serious offenses being committed more frequently than that. [Fn. 1] Can you believe that? This is an absolute waste of tax dollars. Trust me the facts get me interesting. The same site goes on to say “We're also a nation overrun with robbers, rapists, murderers, wife beaters, child molesters. We say we're petrified of them. Yet we're releasing them first from overcrowded jails so dope smokers can take their cells.” [Fn. 1] Are you kidding me? Where is the Justice?
A lot people who grew up with me smoke weed and for them it's a vacation that they could never afford so why is smoking marijuana treated as gateway to crime? With, “Four million Americans were arrested for marijuana violations, the vast majority for simple possession, during [President Bill] Clinton's reign” you have to question is this just a money making scheme or another means to giving the average individual a criminal record? [Fn. 1] Here is some information which may help you decide. “Though there aren't enough cells for violent criminals, marijuana smokers and smalltime dealers are going to prison by the thousands-sometimes for life.” [Fn. 1]
I am still jobless and aiming for success but with the way things are progressing I have to wonder will I make it?
