My Treadmill, My Best Friend

Getting back into shape with my home treadmill.

I'm already 30 (OUCH!). And according to the height and weight chart, I'm not overweight. But gaining a few pounds lately just made me feel uncomfortable. Why wouldn't I be? My jeans which are already tight became even tighter and now i don't have the nerve to wear my favorite body-hugging tops. There are a few people who for some reasons are quiet happy about it. My sister and my sisters-in-law. You guessed it right. They told me that it's about time to hand those stuff down and shop for new get-ups. But as much as I want to be generous, I don't think I can do it for now.

Firstly,I have grown-up and learned to trash my habit of impulsive buying. Secondly, everything just went up, so why on earth did they expect that I have all the money to throw away for shopping?Thirdly, why give those stuff away when I can keep them and with a little discipline, I'm pretty sure I could gain my confidence back so I'll be able to wear them again? Yeah, why not?

I've gotta lose weight. This is what i told myself. As easy as it may sound, but doing it is definitely not a piece of cake. I surely eat fast. A lot of people noticed that. I once read here in the net, that it takes 20 minutes for the brain to recognize when you're full. So when you eat fast, you're actually not giving the brain enough time to know when you're full so it can stop you from eating more. For people like me who seem to have a pretty slow metabolism, eating fast will SURELY get you somewhere. . . to obesity.

So, I put a note on my fridge's door that says "EAT SLOW TO STAY FIT. " I know it sounds crazy, but every time i eat, i make sure I am facing that note for me to be guided. It's not a big thing, but it helps. I also believe that in your effort to drive away fats, you don't have to deprive yourself from eating certain food. Some gave up eating rice to lose weight, but not all of us are that tough to do it. If you feel you're going to die if you won't eat rice, then continue eating rice. Just lessen your rice intake.

Me? I eat everything. From veggies to meat. From cake to junk food. The one-million dollar rule is: lessen your intake.

Everybody has heard of diet pills and weight loss programs that guarantee us a sexy body in 7 days. But let's not forget the universal reminder for those who want to trim down their body :DIET and EXERCISE are still the healthiest ways of getting fit.

I brought up exercise because I am one of those who are too lazy to do it. I'm talking about taking a walk outside, or jogging around somewhere or simply going to the gym. Oh yeah, I tried all of those in the past. But I never had the determination to make it a habit. I also read in the internet that it takes 21 days( or 3 weeks) for anyone to form a habit. But every time I tried to do something which hopefully will turn into a routine, it just wouldn't happen. And I've finally realized that I don't like to go out just to exercise. Honestly, I don't like going to the gym and be with all muscle men and women

Exercising at home is what I'm most comfortable with. So I decided to buy a TREADMILL. Before, I thought it's a waste of money to get something that will never give you pleasure. But what can a high-end cellphone offer you? Well, yeah it has more features than that of a less expensive one. But do we really need those features when all we do is text and call? I wouldn't be hypocrite, but being able to show it off was the very reason why i chose to buy a high-end phone. (Now, I'm talking, lol. )Very impractical right? But in a world where people sometimes judge you with the kind of cellphone you use, can you blame me?The point I am trying to drive into is. . . even once in a while, forget about bling-blings, pay attention to what you really need. Try to focus on your HEALTH.

Walking or running on a treadmill is a pain. Spending 15 minutes on it everyday is even harder.

But always remember, NO PAIN, NO GAIN. And besides, who doesn't want to have a healthy body or a great figure? We all do, right?

So if you really want to lose weight and get into great shape, a treadmill can be a good investment to help you get healthier and sexier. Enjoy burning your calories!!!

Oh, by the way, meet my BEST FRIEND. . . my TREADMILL.
