I just got a ring today from one of my girlfriends -- it symbolizes our eternal friendship. Upon wearing it, I found out that it is too big for my ring finger. I decided to just wear it on the other finger, the middle finger, which would perfectly fit. Though I was wondering if it would change the meaning of wearing the ring on a different finger, I still decided to wear it on my middle finger.
Speaking of rings and its symbolism, I would like to share something that you might find very interesting... I found this in one of the forums I visited while surfing the web.
The title is "Why a wedding ring should be put on the forth finger?" You have to follow all these steps and see yourself get awed.
First, you need to show your two palms then bend your middle fingers.
Put your bended middle fingers together (back-to-back) and so with the rest of your unfolded fingers (tips-to-tips).
Try separating your thumb from each other. You see that it opened easily -- it represents your parents. It opens easily because all human goes through old age, which includes being sick and eventually die. This simply means that parents will leave one day.
Now, close your thumb back together and open or separate your index fingers. Again, it opened easily -- it represents your brothers and/or sisters. There will come a time when they will have their own family and eventually will leave the nest.
Close your index fingers back together and open your little or pinky fingers -- it represents your children. Sooner or later, when they will come of age, they too will leave the nest for they got to build and live their own life.
Lastly, close your little or pinky fingers back together and open your ring finger. Have you opened it already? Well, try a little harder. Still not opening or breaking up? It actually cannot be opened no matter how hard you try, because your ring fingers represent your significant other -- your husband or wife. Among all the people that you came in close contact with in your life, it is to your husband or wife that you should get to be attached with for the rest of your life. Real love will stick together forever and ever, not even unknown forces have the power to separate what is bonded from the very start.
