The Ceiling Fan

Something funny happened the other day.

Living down here in the hot, humid south, we leave our ceiling fans on 24/7. Yesterday I walked out of the bedroom and instead of turning off the light, I accidentally turned off the ceiling fan. Of course I didn’t notice this until I came back into the room and noticed how stuffy it felt. I automatically looked up at the ceiling fan and. . . I was horrified at the thick layer of dust and cat hair clinging to one side of each fan blade. I couldn’t believe it. It was so bad, the dust bunnies were having an orgy right out in the open. I was embarrassed and there wasn’t even anyone around - thank goodness. I couldn’t stand to see this, so I decided to do something about it.

I turned the fan back on and left the room!

I had a ceiling fan like that. I had a high ceiling in that room, and at the time I only had a old rickety ladder, so there was no way I was getting up there to clean that thing. This piece reminded me of that and made me laugh.
