The no child left behind law is not a law that is going to work well. This opinion of mine has been proven. The statistics show that the failing students in High Schools are increasing every year. I know this law has nothing to do with High Schools, but please just listen to my reasoning.
My first reason is that if you don't leave the student behind, that needs to be left behind for more education of one thing, he/she is never going to learn that subject. For example, if a fifth grader fails a subject he should be able to retake that subject, because obviously he hasn't learned it yet.
My most important reason to this opinion of mine is that there are a lot of kids out there who think they can just slack off on all the work, and not participate in anything. Well with the NCLB in progress, they actually can slack off in class instead of pay attention, and still pass the class. I think it's important that the elementary scholars know the things they are supposed to learn in that time period, before they go off to the next grade. If they don't, they are just going to have more trouble the years afterwards.
Thank you for taking the time of reading my letter. Hopefully I will get a response back.
