The party wasn't quite what Eric was use to when it came to parties. Most of the parties he went too were a few guys and in most cases their wives and girlfriends. This party was mostly single women. Of course it as like every other party he'd ever been to in the fact that almost everyone there was drunk.
After dealing with ten drunken girls that seemed to think he was up for grabs and doing his best to keep himself sober. The party had finally wound down and he was able to sit down and wait for Kanu. She had just escorted the last of her drunken friends out to a cab and would be back soon.
“Can I get you anything hon?” the waitress asked.
Eric smiled. “A refill on the cola and I believe we will e leaving soon.”
“Okay hon.” She smiled back. “I believe you and the young lady are covered so I'll be right back with your drink.”
“Thank you.” Eric nodded and the waitress went back to the bar leaving him to sit back and relax.
Kanu came back and sat down next to him. “That was fun.”
“If you say so.” Eric smirked. “I'm not use to dodging the advances of a bunch of horney women. I tell you it's hard to not take them up on their offers when it's been so long since I had sex.”
“How long has it been for you?” Kanu asked with a smile.
“Three months.” Eric smiled at the waitress as she placed his drink in front of him. “I would have liked to continue on with her but she wasn't interested. It had been eight months before that. That's how long me and my ex have been split up. What about you?”
“I wanted to hear more about you but I guess it's my turn.” She frowned. “It's been about six months for me. I dated a guy throughout high school and we got married two months after my eighteenth birthday. I thought we were happy together but in the first year he cheated on me five times.”
Eric felt an old anger start to rise in him as she spoke. He hated men who cheated on their significant others. He couldn't understand how anyone could do that to someone else.
“My last boy friend was a good guy but we couldn't find anything in common other then sex.” Kanu smiled. “I'm so happy that I didn't have kids with either of them. That would have been bad for our kids. Now it's your turn again. What happened between you and your ex?”
“Long story.” He gave a faint half grin. “In fact I don't want to talk about it right now. Let's just keep it between you and me. In fact I want to know more about the person not the history. So I'll say this we just didn't work out.”
Eric could tell that Kanu wanted to hear the rest even if he wasn't ready. He could also tell she wanted to tell him more about herself. So he told her eveything that still bothered him.
“I wish I had just walked away when we first met.” Eric said in closing. “Then I wouldn't feel like I lost everything. I wish I had known she was going to cheat on me.”
“She cheated on you?”
“I believe she did.” Eric emitted taking a drink and wishing it was stronger. “I sometimes wonder if our younger daughter is even mine. It doesn't matter though. I love both of my girls and I will claim them if one is mine or not.”
“That's very noble of you.” Kanu nodded. “I'm glad I got to meet you. You make me want to tell you everything that's happened to me.”
Eric smiled. “I'm willing to listen. Let's not do this here though. I'll take you home and we can talk there. Hell I'll even tell you more about what happened to me.”
“Okay.” She smiled as he waved the waitress down. “I think that would be wonderful.”
Eric payed his bill and they went out to his bike. He handed her helmet to her and began to pull his on. As he rased it to his head she stopped him.
“I have something I need to say to you before I loose my nerve.” Kanu said very seriously.
“Yea, what's that?” Eric smiled.
Kanu looked down. “I'm glad I met you Eric. Not because you're noble and cute but because grandpa was right about you.”
Eric cocked his head. “Really? How so?”
Kanu looked into his eyes and leaned towards him. “You really are a good man. Even after all you told me and the bitterness you show against your ex, you talk about her like she means so much to you. You still love her even though you have so many reasions to hate her. You have a strong and wonderful hart. I just hope there's enough room for me.”
“I do still love her.” Eric emitted. “I always will.” He ran his hand accrossed her left cheeck. “But that doesn't mean that I can't feel that way about someone else.”
Kanu's eye's welled whith tears. “To tell you the truth.” She leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. “I know she helped you build a life and then took it all away.” She hugged him and gave him another soft kiss. “I hope I can find all the pain and take it all away.”
Eric Eric leaned down and gave her a long sensual kiss. He felt the warmth he had been missing as she started to kiss back. He had hoped for what he felt now and he hoped it would never end.
That got pretty deep. It was hard to stop reading. Kinda stuff that makes you hungry for more. Now that is quality.
