Hina felt that now that she was at Inspector Lawood's house; there was no way she could find out more about Alphrood and why he was enemies with her dad. Her father had told her that the men who had killed her mother were after him (Hina's father). Did it all point out towards Alphrood? Somehow, it gave Hina inner satisfaction when it did point towards the hated man. She felt as if she were now free to hate him as much as she want; and maybe, even take revenge. Ah, revenge was the only thing she wanted; unless you could think up something worse.
Hina was having a comfortable time at the Lawoods' house and soon she would be going to her favorite Aunt for ever. Lawood thought that if she stayed with someone she loved, she would soon get over her past. Hina thought that she had to agree with that. There was no mention about Hina's parents and she was happy with that. She didn't want to invite more tears to her eyes. The Lawoods treated her like a family member and she was thankful to them for it. All was going well until…
Hina was sitting by the fire reading a book. The younger Lawoods were playing a game nearby, and she would occasionally look up from her story to give them a piece of advice or a hint. Hina had just got to the best part of the story.
“Having fun, dear?” The kindly face of Inspector Lawood looked down at her as he stood in front of her. He seemed to be worried about something.
“Yeah, it's great, thankyou for asking”
“no problem. Have you got a sec.?”
He motioned her to follow her before she could even answer. Hina regretted having to leave her book just when she had come to the exciting part but Lawood sounded urgent. She followed him without a sound. He went into an empty room and she followed. After shutting the door well so that they would be in total privacy, he turned to her.
“Hina, there was something important I need to talk to you about” he stopped here and took a deep breathe and then continued “Someoen came to me last night at the police station and asked to speak to you. Do you want to hear what he has to say?”
For a second Hina didn't know what to do. Then she looked at Inspector Lawood's conserned face and asked:
“Is it important?”
“If you want to know why your parents were killed” he answered.
