Oh Lord, help us love all people The disabled, orphaned, sad, With compassion always present in our hearts? Help us comfort, touch and hold them In their laughter and their tears As smiles and caring words we do impart? Help us give to aid the homeless Who in city streets do squat, And do all that we can do to give them hope? Help us comfort, feed and clothe them Bringing joy to lives so grim, As our thoughtful deeds help them all to cope? Please help us take care of the old Who so often live alone Friends and neighbours never knowing of their plight Make us sit and talk and listen Helping take away despair And give renewed strength to carry on the fight? Please help us learn to challenge causes And always offer aid Making public the atrocities of mankind? Using the ever present media To inform the watching world And stop prejudice from closing up our minds? Then, when their sad deaths leave us weeping And we have to say goodbye We should remember all the good we tried to do. And continue with the message That so desperately needs to be spread To give care and love to all, no matter who!
Very beautifully written. Such devotion is a blessing unto you! We are all God's servants and together by following his path it will lead us to salvation! God bless! I love your poems.
With so much hurt, hunger, and sadness, this prayer says it all. Thanks so much for sharing it and love reading such a powerful and emotional prayer. Keep writing ...
We need to spread the message. There are so many in need and most of us can do something no matter how small. Every little thing little adds up. We need to spend it forward for our own sake and everyone else. Take care, Ruby
