After the Rain Storm

The smell of freshness fills the air.

Darkness fills the sky
Clouds a misty gray
Thunder fills my ears
Lightning blinds my eyes
Then slowly it comes
Lightly at first
The wondrous rain
Washes the earth
It quenches the thirst of my garden
Giving life to barren dirt
Then as quickly as it came
It vanishes
Clouds part
As if giving birth to the sun
The smell of freshness fills the air
And my lungs
My soul feels cleansed
By the power of nature
