How I'll Start the Day Today

The battle between vanity, the mind, the heart.

Its not as though I care about every word I speak
So you think
My mind isn't as clear and pure as my heart
I know that words can hurt
Special when spoken from someone you care about
Yet everyday I allow something to slip through
These lips of mine
That hurt one so deep
Like a knife to the heart
I take time everyday to paint my lips
With strawberry wine
Sometimes I wonder can this paint
Make my words sweet
No only can my heart make things right
Forget my mind and follow my heart
That's how I'll start the day today
And
Everyday
