Love Shouldn't Hurt

A person asking a loved one for forgiveness.

I love you enough to say those words
But you can't even look at me.
Time is only a passing moment
And you never wish to see,
All the pain that kills my heart,
Kills your heart, please see me.
Look and you'll find the face of sorrow
Wishing for a forgiving heart
That empathizes with imperfection
Mine's you can borrow.
Just remember the past is past,
It's happened, but your cold stare lasts.
If your heart was to bleed
Than mine shall pour too.
As the only person that has that affect on me
Shouldn't you rejoice that you do?
'Til the day I die,
Or "til the death of you,
I"ll keep trying to gain your trust back
Because my pain is true.
