Memories

Have you ever been in a serious relationship that you thought would last forever? Has the flame expired unexpectedly? Do you find you find yourself reminiscing over letters or photographs from the past while a sadness comes over you? Don't worry or have regrets... the memories will always be with you, and time will heal your heart.

Like a warm summer breeze amongst the tree tops,
So did the presence of your love caress my heart.
You were my shining sun, bringing light to each new day.
As you were my sun at day, so were you my moon at night.
It was that soft glow of yours that brought new life to the word love.
I am like a star… just as the moon would be nothing without the sun,
So am I nothing without your pale light to reveal my brilliance.
There is no turning back the clocks of time… there is no forgetting.
There is only remembrance… only memories lie ahead…
Memories drawn from everything bright and beautiful…
Memories of every tear that said I love you.
There is no yesterday… there is no tomorrow… there is only now.
Now to live with no regrets… now to cherish the time we were given…
A time to look back and realize we had it all for the moment.

sometimes i think it would be nice to go back to a time when i had a nice comfortable, loving relationship which i had in order to build on what we had gradually.
