Mother is Going on Strike

After twenty-three years of cooking, cleaning and nurturing, I woke up this morning and realized that I had become a slave to my grown children. So I`ve decided to go on strike.

Dear Family

Consider these words an announcement
one that I know you won`t like
This evening starting at midnight
Mother is going on strike

I`ll no longer be doing your laundry
you can each do your own wash and fold
Just remember that warm is for whites
And that colors should be washed in cold

You`ll be free to eat when you want to
you`ll be eating whatever you`ve cooked
Just remember that when you are finished
to leave my kitchen the way that it looked

If your MP3`s and your cell phones
that you bought with your own hard earned cash
Are left sitting on counters and tables
They are going to be put in the trash

I`ll no longer leave my door open
so you can entertain all of your friends
You`ll have to entertain elsewhere
because today`s the day the crap ends

So there you have it my darlings
you can squawk as much as you like
But this evening starting at midnight
mother is going on strike!

Judy.
I did mine and my husbands laundry this afternoon, then when he got home we went out to eat. While we were gone the kids ordered pizza for dinner.....day one down. we`ll have to see how it goes from here:)

You did a good job on this one. It is what every mother has declared at least once in a childs life. They're big enough to fend for themselves but remember, if THEY go on strike your family and home life as you know it will head down hill faster than a minnow can swim.

I would love to say this, but it's not going to happen. Not for at least 10 years
