My Best Lover

This piece describes a personal experience and memories of a true love I once had.

You're not ready
But I'll wait for you
Even with a heart that's heavy
For what we had was true
Inside my thoughts you'll always stay
You were the best I ever had
Longing day after day
Trying not to go mad
Each night I smile in my sleep
When I often dream of you
Sometimes I quietly weep
When I wake and realise we're through
Inside I know all I can do is wait
Cos truthfully there'll be no other
And even if it's ever too late
I'll know you were my best lover

An interesting poem Trey, it just confirms that all you told me were lies, remember what comes around goes around.
