My Princess

For my daughter that my ex's family is keeping from me.

Brittany you will always be a princess to me
Stuck in a castle where I can't see
so close and yet so far
but always in my heart
I love you, I think you know
But I wish I could be there to watch you grow.
Someday when you're older and able to be
on your own, I know you will see
It wasn't all my fault, it wasn't up to me
Not being there for you,
I tried my best, I did all I could do.
but when you are ready i will be here for you
you will always be my princess so special and dear.
I know someday we will be full of cheer.
when you are all grown and again i can hold you near.
until then in my heart is where you will always be
and you'll never be less than a princess to me.
