The Mirror

In the glass I stand looking beyond the man.

Not seeing what I've become but what I am. A boy inside the man, for the man is only a shell in which I stand. I go to work every day only wanting to be home and play. My life has moved from the bosom of my mother to that of my wife. Still scared and alone I cry at night. Waiting and hopping that one day I may escape the prison of glass and break the shell of man to be the boy I am inside.
