To My Inner Child

The mind speaks to itself. First the metaphorical superego as the inner child, quizzically and the ego as the mind searching for mental balance.

Leaves that fall
Like broken thoughts
Run from ocean petals
Richly sought
Yet unbegot
You must surely remember?

Dear Lady,

There's a part of you that's me.
Somewhere lost in time.
We came apart, unraveled by some
Fearsome giant's pull

The thread was cut and we are two.
Let us now that we know meld
Into each other's heart.

If we embrace and stand as one
Then let our God decide our fate
For we must stand as one
When the Universe is done.

Yours truly,

Us
