Why He Beat Me So Bad

Every single day Women and Men are abused.

Today wasn't so bad swollen by my right ear
Been with this man 9/10 months about a year
Always cook his favorite dish every friday night
Steak and potatoes feeds my mans appetite
Prepared it just in time don't want to get my man mad
STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HE BEAT ME SO BAD
Make sure his dishes washed
floors mopped windows cleaned
Don't need that look from him
It's ugly so mean
Won't raise my voice put my hands on my hip
Oh no honey you about to get one to the lip
He calls my name with so much anger and hate
In the back of my mind I'm sad I even went on that date
Your man comes home you glad I'm sad
STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HE BEAT ME SO BAD
Blackened my eye made me cry
Then when I see my mother I got to tell a lie
Don't want to get no one involved don't need no help
If he finds out I get beat with a belt
Slap me around like a child of his own
Hurt me so bad I feel it in my bones
Beat me in my head repeatedly with his fist
Then turn around and ask for a kiss
Need to make a phone call, someone help me find my dad
STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HE BEAT ME SO BAD
Pays all my bills keeps me in the finest clothes
Don't talk too loud uh uh see caught me in the nose
Try my best to be so nice, when I do he beat me twice
All this done by my so called man
member that day he slapped me with the back of his hand
Felt them knuckles with such great pace
Hit me so hard done messed up my face
What I do to him to make him so mad
STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HE BEAT ME SO BAD
Can't get my hair done it all fell out
He wrecking my nerves when he scream and shout
What I do now why you push me on the ground
Did it quick before I could turn around
He’s beating me bad somebody help I need a donor
3 months later I'm recovering from a coma
Leaned over and kissed me it tasted so bitter
Enough I say got a lot to reconsider
Doctor walked in the room his name was trinidad
STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HE BEAT ME SO BAD
This has got to stop get some back bone girl
Your not the only one it's happening around the world
Time to stand tall put some bass in my voice
Getting out of this I do have a choice
Got a full clip and I'm ready to go
Five times in the chest when he walked through the doe
Look at this man Mr. Bad Ass Thad
See his life leaving him I was glad
No more bruises no more pain and tears
I'm going to the bar drink me a couple of beers
Everybody raise your drink with a loud voice cheers
It's me everybody amen I'm free
And I guarantee
Not another man will put his hands on me

This is strong. Writing's very controlled.
really like this part;

"Make sure his dishes washed
floors mopped windows cleaned
Don't need that look from him
It's ugly so mean
Won't raise my voice put my hands on my hip
Oh no honey you about to get one to the lip
He calls my name with so much anger and hate
In the back of my mind I'm sad I even went on that date
Your man comes home you glad I'm sad
STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HE BEAT ME SO BAD"
