Being Yourself

This is Juno. He runs and jumps just like you. He says hello and how are you. He can count on his fingers 1-2-3. He wears leaves on his head. He would like to make a hat, but hasn't got a needle or thread. He would be happier if he had a hat instead. This is Juno's elephant friend Elia. He likes to shower all the time. Hi Eila, Juno said. Where might I find a needle and thread? Elia laughed and said. At a store is, were to find a needle and thread. But that is far on the other shore. That will be the only place to find a store. Off Juno went in his boat, to travel far, to the other shore, with, only one thing in mind. That was, to find a store to buy a needle and thread, to make a hat for his head. He wanted a hat and nothing more. So, he would not have to wear leaves on his head anymore. Juno, rowed his boat and rowed his boat and rowed some more until finally reaching the other shore. What a wonderful site he thought to himself. He could not wait to go wondering through the tall building he saw on the shore. Especially to know that he soon would find a store. So, he could buy a needle and thread and wear leaves on his head no more.

Juno walked the big city streets, looking to find a store indeed. Find a place that was filled with treats. But Juno was only after just one thing, to find a needle and some threading string. Hurray, Hurray, I found a store I was searching for. Inside I will find a needle and thread and be able to make a great hat for my head. Inside, Juno could see many things to buy for you and me. Hello, my name is Juno I come from far out in the sea . I would like to buy a needle and some threading string. So, I can make a hat for my head and get rid of these itchy old leaves. Hello, there Juno its nice to meet you. I have lots of needles and threading string. But may I interest you in an already made hat instead. Already made hats! What treat that would be I would were a hat proudly on my head. I'll take the brown and gray hat that's the one for me. Now I can finally get rid of these itchy old leaves. Juno waved goodbye with his new brown and gray hat on his head and headed back to his boat just a proudly as can be with his new hat on his head. He got in his boat and rowed away as proudly as could be not needing a needle and threading string. He had a new hat and was proud as could be. To finally have a hat, instead of those leaves. He rowed and rowed finally reaching his home he couldn't wait to show his new hat to his friends. He was glad he was home with much delight that city gave him such a fright.

His friends were there to meet him at the shore they all laughed at the sight of him wearing a silly hat on his head they all laughed until there sides were sore.

You look funny with that thing on your head. You looked better with just leaves instead. The laughing and joking made Juno very sad, he thought his friends would like his hat that he wore proudly on his head. Juno went to his house and wondered why his friends all laughed and made him cry. His new hat was nice as any store bought thing. It was better then some itchy old leaves. He thought that if he wouldn't wear his new hat and just wear his leaves his friend would be happy and accept him. But if they were really his friends they would accept him wearing his store bought hat that he loved and wore proudly. Juno went to his friends and asked why they all laughed and made him cry. Your new hat is funny its not you at all. We just aren't used to seeing you with a hat we think you looked better with the hat made of leaves. We just think it looks silly sitting there on top of your head. We still love you still the same even if you had a store bought hat or some itchy old leaves. Whatever makes you happy is all that should matter and nothing more. Wear your silly hat that you bought from the store. You wanted it so badly that you traveled far to the other shore. That makes us like you even more.

Juno smiled and from ear to ear wearing his new store bought hat that he bought far on the other shore. What moral did he learn from this: To make yourself happy on the inside and not what your friends say is cool! Now Juno is happier than ever you see his head doesn't itch from those itchy old leaves. He wears his new hat proudly on his head even though his friends think it looks silly on top of his head.
