Finding True Happiness

Norma is used to be the gold medalist of the Philippine Track and Field Team until she fell inlove with Joe.  She chooses love over her career.  Even though her beloved father did not approve on having a relationship with Joe, she is still insisted. Now, there is something missing in her life.  Her father is now old.  She is worried that no one would take care of him. And, she is noth happy with Joe.  So, she decided to leave Joe and go back to her father.

Before she left at that night, they have an arguement.

Norma said, "I wanted to have the life I used to have."

Joe replied, "Now, I get it.  You wanted to be an athlete like before.  I am so confused with you.  I thought you have found your real happiness with me."

"I am wrong, Joe.  I realized that both of us are not happy in this relationship."

When she left, there are tears in her eyes.  Those are the tears of joy because she has finally settle free from the bondage of bad relationship with Joe.  She believed that she made a right decision.

When she went to her father, she saw him watching his favorite television program.  She greeted her father with a kiss on the cheek, she said, "Dad, I am home."

He replied, "You had finally come to your senses.  Now, what are you going to do with your life?"

She said, "I think I will go back to the team again. Sport is my passion.  It is my true happiness."

He replied, "Oh, good to hear that! By the way, I would like to invite you at the church to meet my special friend."

Norma is very curious about her father's special friend.  So, she asked, "Why is he so special, dad?"

He replied, "When my business is down, He is there to comfort me.  When you left me with that foolish lad, He never leave me."

Norma's eyes widened and she exclaimed, "I am so excited to meet your friend, dad."

In the following day, she and her father go to church.  She is looking around and see the church that is crowded with people from their community.  She asked her father, "Where is your friend, dad? Is he from this community?"

He replied, "Just listen to the sermon of the preacher, and you will get the idea of what I am talking about."

Norma listened to the message and it touched her heart and uplifted her broken spirit.  She accepted Jesus in her heart as her Lord and Savior.  She offered to Him all the pains she felt as she lifted her burdens to him.  Now, she finally found the true happiness in Jesus Christ.
