Ghost Protection

A family moves into a new house, a new house that is haunted by a family of ghosts.

The new house that my family and I have been living in for two months is very beautiful, it has two floors, nice rooms, and a large front yard. The other thing that the house has is ghosts that roam the halls.

It started when we were moving into the house, bringing in boxes, bags, and furniture. While we were brining the furniture in I happened to notice that when we brought the couch and some of the chairs in, left the room, came back to find the chairs and the couch were in different spots then where they were first placed. Now it could be the movers moving the furniture, but I think differently.
The first night in the house was very quiet, quieter than any night that I had ever seen in my seventeen years. The cats all slept soundly and it seemed like everyone was in a deep sleep. The next day we all got up early to move furniture to where we wanted it, we placed the dishes in the cabinets, and found spots for all our belongings.

The next couple of weeks seemed to be like any when moving into a new house, until three days ago. One day when I came home from school things seemed to be different. The house it's self and the furniture seemed to have a different look to it. The inside of the house reminded me of one of those historical places with the old furniture and the belongings of the people of that historical period. Maybe it was all in my head. When my sister came home she didn't seem to notice it, she just walked through the house like she didn't see how the house had changed. As the days passed my parents and my sister saw that the house had a different time to it, that things weren't as we had them when we moved in.

"Have you kids noticed how the house looks different?"

"Yes, the paint on the house looks like it's a peach color, and when we first came here it was a light blue color. Maybe someone painted it while we were gone for the day," my sister shrugged, but it didn't seem right. Who would paint our house? We didn't know what it was.

They eventually didn't think much of it, they thought it's just moving in jitters. However, me being the one in the family who believed in ghost stories and stuff I started to look into the history of the house. I went to the local library and tried to find records on the house and who lived there. I came across a family of two children and parents who had lived in the house in 1804. I went home and told my family of my findings.

"Mom guess what!?"

"Not now sweetie, I am in the middle of some work. Can we talk later?"

"Oh ok. Is dad home?"

"No, he had to go to the hardware store for some nails."

"Where is Mandy," I asked hoping she was home and wasn't too busy.

"She went for a walk. She said she would be home at 4 o'clock."

"I am going to go back to the library," I told her hoping she wouldn't ask me what I was up to.

When I left the house I headed in the direction that Mandy usually went for walks. When I turned to look at the house I looked into the window of Mandy's room and I saw a figure standing their staring at me. I shook my head and looked back at the window and the figure was gone.

I made it halfway down the block when I saw a police officer with my sister. She looked pretty shook up. I ran over to her to find out what had happened.

"Mandy are you ok? What's going on officer. Is everything alright?"

"Is this your sister?"

"Yes, what's going on?" I asked impatiently.

"Your sister was attacked by a couple of boys who usually cause trouble in town. They never come out this far though. But she's alright, the lady that lives in the house behind us called the police when she saw those guys hassling your sister."

"I am alright, can we go home officer?"

"I am going to need you to come down to the station for a report."

"I'd rather just go home right now. please," my sister said with an exhausted look on her face.

"Alright, I'll give you a call in a couple days. Do you girls want me to give you a ride home?"

"No, I don't want to scare my mother. She has a lot of work to do and I'd rather not worry her."
