When I woke up it seemed to be just like any other day. The sun was just coming over the hills and birds were flying around and singing their usual songs. However soon I heard people shouting and screaming. I got dressed and followed the sound. Soon I found a small crowd gathered. The people seemed to discuss things and got very passionate about it to the extend that they started shouting and screaming at each other.
I joined the crowd and soon found out that a man named Jesus of Nazareth will be brought before Pilate later that day to be judged. I remembered that name and I remembered who he was.
The first time I met Jesus was when I was fishing. In order to try to catch more fishes I tried to fish at night. While I was out a very strong storm arose and I was fighting against the waves. Soon I realized that I was not strong enough and gave up. Just before I gave up I heard a strong voice saying: "Peace be still". Immediately the winds ceased and waves calmed. I looked around me and found that another boat was close beside me. There were a number of men curled up in the boat and one man was standing up.
"Who is he" I thought and followed them. Soon I found out that this man was Jesus of Nazareth. He taught people about God and about loving our neighbors. He healed the sick and raised the dead. I followed him wherever he was going.
"Why is Pilate judging him? He didn't do anything wrong." I made my way to Pilates palace finding that a large crowd had already gathered. They were discussing Jesus and what will happen to him. More and more people joined the crowd.
The time came and Pilate and Jesus appeared on the balcony of the palace. Pilate gave us the option. We could decide whom he should release. Jesus or a man called Branabas. I thought that that would be an easy decision and that Jesus would be free soon. Before I could shout Jesus some men who gathered at the back of the crowed started shouting "Barnabas! Soon most of the people were shouting "Barnabas! "What is happening? What are they doing?" I was surprised. I tried to stop them but more and more people started shouting "Barnabas! Barnabas!".
Barnabas was free and now Pilate was deciding what he should do with Jesus. A man to my right started whispering to the men around him. I couldn't hear what he was saying but eventually he whispered to me "Let us shout Crucify him". I took him by his collar and threw him on the floor. "Why? He didn't do anything wrong. He hasn't done anything to you has he? Some of the men split us up and the man got up from the floor. He looked deep into my eyes. I could see the hatred he had. He was cold and the eyes were dead. Then I could hear his voice and the voice of the people around him. "Crucify him! Crucify him!" The shouting got louder and louder. I couldn't stay any longer. I started running. I did not know where to. I just ran and ran. Tears filled my eyes.
I stopped at a small lake and sat down. I recaptured of what just happened. "They will kill him! They will really kill the Son of God." When I realized that I was sitting at this spot for a few hours I came to the decision that I must try to stop this act of evil. So I ran back and from far away I could see that people were already gathering to watch the event.
I saw how he was walking and carrying the cross. He struggled and eventually a man appeared and started carrying the weight for him. They led him up to the hills where they usually crucify criminals. There I met his mother and some of the men that usually traveled with him. I recapture that they called them the disciples.
And then they crucified him and he died. I felt helpless. I wanted to prevent this from happening but I could not.
Some days later I met one of his disciples. He told me that Jesus is alive again. "How could it be? A miracle." My heart started pounding and I felt so happy. The Son of God lives again.
