Tyanna watched as Caesa examined the strange ring that sat on the table. Bretar grunted at her as she cooed in childlike amazement. She had to agree with Caesa that the design was amazing.
“Vorhaden told me that the time displacement viewers existed but I never thought it was true.” Caesa said with giddy excitement. “The science behind this is amazing. The possibility of viewing the effects of quantum events and seeing possible futures is so tempting.”
She knelt before it and the mirror began to fill with strange lights. “It responds to you Caesa.” Anala grinned.
An image of Bretar dressed in a fine dress uniform and her in a flowing gown with flowers in her hair appeared. Tyanna smiled as sat up straight and stared at the image in the mirror. Caesa turned a bright red as she tried to cover the image.
“That is not your deepest desire Caesa.” Anala laughed. “That is one of the possible futures. From what the mirror has shown me in the past it is the most likely one.”
“How did it know to show anything?” Caesa gave Anala an inquisitive look. “I didn't ask any question.”
Tyanna stepped up and the image changed to one of Velden smiling and holding out his hand. The image quickly changed to an image of Moon Shadow burning. Anala gasped at the sight and five shadowy figures stood in the firelight. None of them could see their faces but two of them had the form of Sslisk they had seen.
“I didn't do that.” Caesa said.
“No.” Tyanna answered the unasked question. “I did it.”
The image changed again this time to strange tunnel. In the tunnel was Velden and not far behind him was a dark figure with several small yellow horns covering its head. Its skin was jet black and his eye's were a burning yellow. It smiled a toothy grin believing Velden didn't know he was there.
“Velden is in trouble.' Bretar said. “We should go help him.”
“You can't.” Anala told him. “The maze is sealed and can not be opened from the outside. Velden will have to handle his himself. The real question is who is doing the sabotage?”
Changed again showing a green skinned humanoid with scales. His form shifted as he moved through the City Street's. It was broad daylight but no one seemed to notice him as he walked along the street. Tyanna felt the deep hate she had for the creature.
“I have one question.” Bretar said starring at the mirror. “If that is our foe than why does no-one notice him?”
“He is but one of our foe's.” Tyanna said. “I can't seem to get the image that he hide's behind but that circlet tells me that it can allow me to see him.”
“Well at least we have something to go on.” Bretar smiled. “Let's go do this.”

Velden's senses where heightened. It had been a long time since he last let his natural senses do most of the work. Thanks to those very senses he knew there was a trap ahead and an enemy behind.
He believed that he could get through the trap and moved forward. That's what he believed he had to do. He would worry about the enemy when he finished the job at hand.
He looked at the wall and saw the spear points sticking out of the wall; some with failed attempts still on them. He examined the floor and then saw the pattern. Through the crown he could see where to step so he didn't set off the traps.
He began to make his way across the trapped floor and found it easier as he went. He only regret was that he couldn't cover his tracks and let his pursuer fall victim to the trap. It would have been fitting if a trap meant for Velden felled the being behind.
Velden reached the other side and looked at the two passages he had to choose from. The one to the left looked just like the one to the right so vision wouldn't help here. He smelt the air.
The one to the left smelt like an acrid rotting mess. The one to right smelled fresh and clean as if by a cool breeze. He almost started down the dark corridor.
He stopped, remembering his father telling him that the wrong path was often the easier one. He smelt the air again and picked out an acidic sent. He turned around and headed down the left corridor. The smell alone was the one thing that he new was right.
Bretar didn't like this hunting Sslisk in the filled city streets was a bad idea. The creature they hunted looked just like a human and only Tyanna could see him for what he was. If she pointed at the wrong person and an innocent person got killed there would be hell to pay.
He liked Tyanna and thought she was a good leader but without Velden around Bretar wasn't sure of the plans. His uneasy feeling was only was only getting worse as time passed. It was as if he was waiting to kill or be killed by the Dracoen Sslisk and he had no way to see them. That's when he realized that the feelings he was having were no different then when he had last fought the Sslisk.
He looked around for something unusual and saw a man dressed like a merchant flanked by two hulking brute's moved his head in a jerky way constantly looking around the other was more fluid but still seemed off. The merchant also seemed out of place. He saw Tyanna looking towards these men as well.
She motioned towards them and Bretar made a realization. Without the aid of the crown or the circlet he picked them out. Bretar set about following these three men knowing he could sense the Sslisk.
