Once there was a pumpkin man. Who lived high above a town. Dancing in his pumpkin patch, happily safe and sound.
All the children from the town would climb up to gather around. To see what it was that he could see, high above their town.
Pumpkin Man! Pumpkin Man! The children all shout. What do you see, high up on this hill looking out!
I see hills full of flowers, birds and bees. I see butterflies dancing and prancing in the breeze.
Pumpkin Man! Pumpkin Man! What else do you see!
The children all shout with a happy little glee.
I see buildings and skyscrapers that are all taller than trees.
The pumpkin man said excitedly.
Pumpkin Man! Pumpkin Man! What more do you see! Past the buildings and the trees. The children all shout again more eagerly.
The pumpkin man strained harder with all his might to see.
He looked past the hills full of flowers and bees.
He looked past all the buildings and the trees.
Yes! Yes! He suddenly shouted joyfully! I can see, I can see!
I can see a land full of candy, what a place that must be.
Gumdrops, and candy corn, and lollipops too!
More candy then my eyes had ever seen to be true.
Is there anything else that you might see!
They all giggled and laughed noisily.
There are fairies and leprechauns and elves too. There are so many things there for all of us to see and do.
Please! Please! May we go there!
They all began screaming and shouting as they danced all about.
The pumpkin man looked at them with much delight.
I'm sorry; the pumpkin man said with a soft little sigh.
The sun will soon set and the night stars will be high in the sky.
The children all let out a soft disappointing cry, as they all hurried down the hill. Before the sun had set and the stars grew bright in the sky.
They climbed into bed as they fell fast asleep. Their dreams were filled of candy, and leprechauns, as well as beautiful fairies too. What wonderful things the pumpkin man saw to come true.
The pumpkin man lay in his pumpkin patch high on the hill. Counting the all the stars, and seeing his tale tales, twinkling before his eyes, high in the night sky.
