Tommy The Monkey

Tommy's mother told him to never climb the big, high tree. Tommy did anyway because the banana's up there looked so Good, but when something happens Tommy learns his lesson to listen to his mommy.

Tommy the monkey, was a little money that loved climbing trees in the forest where he lived. Getting banana's, so he could eat. There was one tree his mother told him to stay away from, it was a big, high tree. His mother didn't want him climbing it because she was afraid that he would fall down; and hurt himself.

Tommy had become real good at climbing, and swinging from the trees, so he wasn't afraid to climb the big, high tree. One day when he mother wasn't home he went on swinging on the trees like he normally did everyday. He came across the big tree, he could hear his mother words in his mind. “Tommy don't climb that big, high tree.”

He knew he shouldn't, but the banana's up on that big tree looked so good. He told himself, “I'll just climb up really quick, and get me a few banana's before mommy gets she would never know I went up there. Tommy got up the tree fine, he climb along time. Then he finally reached the banana's; he had never seen banana's so good and ripe before. “Oh these banana's look so delicious.” He balanced himself on one of the tree limbs, and began eating a few banana's. Then he gathered a few to take home with him, as he was coming down from the top where the banana's are. He didn't notice that a few of the limbs on the tree were weak, and about to break.

He swung from the first few branches fine, but when he got ready to grab on to another it broke, and Tommy began falling. He was so scared he thought he was about to get hurt. “Mommy, Mommy!” He yelled as he was falling from the big, high tree. “Help mommy!” He just know just knew he was about to get hurt, and there was nothing he could do to keep from hitting the ground.

He closed his eyes trying to brace himself for the fall to the ground. Then all of a sudden he wasn't falling any more, when he realized he was no longer falling he opened his eyes. He was safe in the arms of his mother, Tommy was so happy that his mother had saved him. “Thank you mommy, thank you!” “I thought for sure I was about to get hurt!” Tommy was fine thanks to his mother, and her quick thinking.

She saw that Tommy wasn't at home when she had got back, so she set out to look for him. He was never suppose to leave to far from their tree home, when she noticed he was gone. She didn't see him no place in sight, she felt as if something was wrong. She thought somebody, or some animal of the forest had got him.

Then she heard him yelling for her, the yells were coming from the direction of the big, high tree. She swung from tree to tree as fast as she could, she got there just in time to catch Tommy before he hit the ground. When they got home safely, she scolded Tommy for what he had done. “Tommy I told you to stay away from that big, high tree. That's an old tree, and it's very dangerous.” “I'm your mother when I tell you something I don't be telling you nothing wrong.” “Nor do I tell you these things to punish you.” “I tell you these things, because I love you.” “I don't want to see you hurt, promise me Tommy that you will not go to that high tree again.”

Tommy hugged his mother real tight, “I'm sorry mommy.” “I should have listen when you told me not to climb up that high tree, but those banana's looked so good.” “I just had to have some.” “I ate a banana while up in the tree; I never tasted one that good before.” Tommy felt kind of sad because he didn't have any more of the good banana's that were in that big, high tree. He knew he could never go back to it, he wouldn't even try that again. He knew that if he did next time he might not be so lucky, his mother might not be able to safe him. If he went up there again, what he didn't know is that his mother had saved the banana's that he'd picked out of the big, high tree as well, saving him. “Tommy!” “Yes, mommy.” “I got something for you!” Tommy looked sad still thinking about those good banana's in that big, high tree.

Tommy mother brought her hand from behind her back where she was hiding the banana's Tommy had picked. When Tommy saw that his mother had those big banana's he was so happy. His mother gave him one of the biggest ones, and she had one for herself. “I love you mommy, you're the best mommy in the world!” “Thank you so much.”

After that day Tommy never went up in the big, high tree again. He had learned his lesson, and from then on whenever his mother told him not to do something he didn't do it. Because he always remember what could have happen to him in that big, high tree.

I pictured a 'curious george' look-alike while reading this and was entertained by the cuteness and logistics of listening to an elder. Ah the stubborn children of the planet should read this one !
Excellent !
