No one knows exactly how this occurrence happened; we just know that she spent (what may well have been) her last few minutes collecting shells…
Cherry's Mother had spoken to our Chief Reporter about the incident “I didn't pay much attention to Cherry that night… I… I just… left her with her brothers… and soon they too returned, but not with their sister.” Cherry's brothers also felt the same way.
Cherry, allegedly, was collecting shells for her "giant" shell necklace and as she was doing so, she must have seen the tide rise and try to escape from the roar of the sea, but the sea was too strong…
The local police had searched high and low for 3 miles - but still found nothing - so concluded the search as unsolved. The loss of Cherry and has touched many people's hearts and we must all wish that she is safe, wherever she may be.
