13 Ways to Understand Freedom

How to understand the word freedom and apply it to life.

As a human being, I'm as many others concerned with the term Freedom.

What's freedom?

How to be free?

When are we free?

Who is really free?

Who isn't?

Do we mean the word free when we say it?

Do we really want to be free?

Are we honest with ourselves when we scream the word free out loud? Or we just say it.. Just as a hopeless try to convince ourselves that we are FREE!

Freedom... A very famous word we hear a lot everyday... In movies... On TV... When we go out... In our homes... When we have a fight with someone related to us or interferes in our matters or just trying to tell us what to do... in politics... simply everywhere. The question is what's freedom? Do we understand this word we brag about? Do we feel it? Do we use this word properly? Do we deserve to say it?

All of us have been fighting for years for gaining our so called freedom. We suffered and continue on suffering for the sake of Freedom.

Have you ever stopped once and tried to really think about the real meaning of it all? What are you exactly fighting for? Is it worth it?

We need to start understanding what we talk about everyday what we say we need we want. We have to stop fighting for the wrong reasons for things that we don't really understand, that we don't really believe in.

One day all of a sudden it finally struck me. I finally understand. At last I got it. I got the definition of this overrated term.

Freedom is when you have no strings attached... no bonds of any kind... when you are not committed to anything on any level so you can have the choice... the choice to do what and when.. Just when you manage to do so you're free.

What can we commit to in this life? That's the question we should ask ourselves if we want to be free so that we can break our bonds and never do that mistake again. Here's a list of things I think we bond to;

  1. Religion
  2. School
  3. Work
  4. Contracts
  5. Promises
  6. Marriage
  7. Love
  8. Having children
  9. Dates
  10. Engagement
  11. Family
  12. Body requirements
  13. Living

Every one of us is committed to at least two or three of these things... read the previous list and think... give it a very deep thinking and if you ever got your way out please tell me about it. Although I'm sure that no one could be that free unless he/she doesn't live!!!!

Yes, read that last thing on the list again. Living, you cannot be free from living. You need essentials to survive. Air, water, food, shelter, sex, etc…

Can you get rid of these? Can you do without them? Can you be free of them?

As long as you are alive, you are not free.

I think we are designed to be eager to freedom but in the same time we are not designed to have it. We are dying to be free but we simply got to die literally to have it... everyday we give our freedom away and then request it back.

Those who say we are free... they are nothing but a bunch of liars because freedom is the opposite of LIFE. I guess this leads us to another option, they might just be ghosts... who knows?!!!

Alas, a truth untold is spoken (written as it was . . .)! Great!

And to those of you who desire to achieve financial 'freedom', you really need to read it again, and again, and again!
Get a good grip on what you have, compared to what you need, keep your obligations and commitments to a minimal, so that your INcome is more than your OUTcome, and you will only be just getting started.
Stop wasting your money on what you 'want', and you will soon find that the basic needs can be very affordable. Death in itself is our only true freedom, that is why we were 'born to die'. Life is a commitment, so forget about your freedom and start getting busy with your life! LIVE IT!
