When you see a leaf falling to the ground, you could marvel at the peaceful feeling it gives you. You could also follow with your gaze as it twists and turns before it hits the floor, gliding gracefully before it lands, soars and plays with the air that caresses its light texture.
The trees gave it up making room for a new one. You look up at that branch from which it detached and wonder why did it have to fall? Why, if it once looked radiant making the whole tree elegant and bursting with life?
Then you understand that it let go of the one which nourished it, to become soil for the same tree which it once belonged to.
And, ah!!! The beauty of it, the loveliness it possesses once it relinquishes and flies, and dances to the soft tunes of the wind as it reaches the earth! The scene makes you forget where it used to dwell. You let your eyes rejoice on the wonderful few seconds this amazing performance takes place, and maybe wish you were that leaf... if only, for those few seconds... To be able to fly, to dance with the wind, to enjoy the sweetness of the slow fall until you become useful again feeding what once fed you.
A leaf falls, and your eyes close opening your imagination and the desire to become just like it. The freedom it shares with you at that moment cannot be taken from you. You let your heart rejoice counting the sight as another blessing to be thankful for.
