A Small Reminder at Work

Short reminder about how we deal with inquiries and small information at work. Things that we should know or shouldn't know about the operations and top secrets.

I was standing in nearby the hotel reception this morning and thinking about something to write. I went back to my desk and remember the old paper piece that I keep on my drawer more than a week ago. I printed it when I first saw and read it on internet, I know I got something about this.

“The mayor of a Siberian oil town has ordered his bureaucrats to stop using expressions such as "I don't know" and "I can't." Or look for another job.”

After reading those lines in the paper my mind speed up for working, what if I make an interview.

As I read the paper I clearly understand that a certain country pass the bill and make it a Law and already implemented in their country.

I believe the person who pass the bill and make it a Law in their country has beaming heart to control and teach the people to more responsible to their task at work. Be more productive to work and sincere to their part of responsibility.

Here in this country if we are going to have something like this, how can we comply with this, what is the common answer if I am going to conduct small interview?

“I don't know” is not allowed to anyway in our place here in our country what can you say? I was surprise to what I read in internet the other week and still I remember the part which I was so surprise the “I don't know” reply to any question is no longer allowed by the law?

I'm going to conduct an interview with my colleagues at work with regards to this topic.

I want to know what are their reaction to this kind of new law is if ever it will be implemented here in our place.

My first victim on the spot, Mr. Jaber our Credit Manager:

Me: Mr. Jaber good morning! How are you today? Everything is fine? I would like to ask you with regards to something I read in the internet, there is place that bans this phrases “I don't know” will be ban in any way, any how or anywhere at all situation. What is your opinion and reaction with regards to this topic?

Mr. Jaber: Yeah its okay to ban this term since it is a nonsense word. If we are sensible person we should be more resourceful and not use this at all. We must feel responsible to know the answer in anyway even if it is not our job.

Me: Okay thank you for your kindness.

Mr. Jaber: And why are you doing it?

Me: I need to know if people around here are good follower to this kind of new changes.

Mr. Jaber: Ah okay that's good; I thought your going to say “I don't know”, laughing.

After Mr. Jaber leave I'm not contented I need to know more of my colleague's reactions. I need to know more!

And so I ask again one of my colleagues the same question. She is our hotel guest relation officer. She must know how to deal with this kind of situation.

Me: Hi Katrine, how are you?

Katrine: Good, and how about you?

Me: I'm good thanks!

Me again: Katrine I'm doing this some sort of interview here and I'm hoping to your kind reaction to this topic. If here in we are going to ban the phrase “I don't know” what can you say or any reaction?

Ms. Katrine: We should say “let me check it and I will get back to you as soon as possible” smiling.

Me: Okay thank you very much for your very kind reaction

Katrine: What are you doing? I wonder what's going on with you but any way I already answer. Laughing 

Me: Nothing I just want to know your reaction. Laughing too

I also ambush our Human Resources Manager in the hotel and ask his opinion about this topic.

Me: Good Morning Mr. Edroos! How are you today?

Mr. Edroos: Good and how about you?

Me: Wonderful1 thank you! My replied... Mr. Edroos, I want to ask your reaction with regards to this certain topic which I had read in an internet before.

Mr. Edroos: Why? What is it for?

A Normal and kind question of a person to his position. He is interested on what I'm doing?

Me: It was mention in internet, actually in a new in internet that the phrase “I don't know” are already ban, meaning not allowed to use in any situation at all. What can you say about this?

Mr. Edroos: I agree with that!

And he smiles back to me.

Mr. Edroos: We shouldn't be nonsense to use it. We should know the answer. It should be approve immediately. Why are you asking me?

Me: I just need your opinion regarding this. Thank you very much!

What else I need to know. Most people are agreeing especially to those who are working and in the circle of busy life. We must be in one flow to have a harmonious life at work. How about the life at home and other places? I think we should also apply it.

What do you think?

That's all folks...
