It can be a very fun and outgoing tourist attraction or even something small, like grandma's house. For each and every one of us it is something different. For me, that special place is Heavenly, Lake Tahoe. Heavenly brings me comfort, happiness, and excitement.
Every time I visit Heavenly, I never go alone. It is a very special trip that my four girlfriends and I take at least twice a year. We love the comfort of it. It puts us at ease and gives us a sense of community. It is a much laid back town where it seems that no one has a job or chores to think about. Everyone there seems to have one goal in mind: to relax and enjoy the comfort zone and life. We visit the shopping malls and treat ourselves, and our body, to a relaxing spa. In the evening there is romantic music filling the world through the speakers; putting everyone in a happy and relaxing zone. There are no worries. We sit by the fireplace in our fuzzy slippers and comfortable pajamas talking about nothing and dreaming we could live here forever.
Also, Heavenly brings us happiness. Within the first step of stepping out of our cars and heading into a small local restaurant to eat, we are greeted by the passer bys. In that instant moment all of our sad feelings and emotions fly away and we are put back into our happy mode. They do not know us, and we do not know them, but we still greet each other with a smile on our faces and a meaningful “hello”. Just thinking that we have no worries and no problems to think about puts us in a cheerful mood and suddenly we want to explore and do everything we can possibly can in order to stay here forever. We felt like we were the only happy people on this planet, and we controlled our own faith and destiny.
Finally, the best part about our special place was the excitement flying in the air all around us. There was ice skating in the winter and parasailing in the summer, from hiking trips to skiing trips, all with unlimited possibilities and endless fun. And best of all, no matter what type of weather, rain or snow, there was always shopping. No matter if he had zero dollars in our debit account, or if we had triple digits on our bank statement, we still went shopping. By the end of this magical spree, our trunks were stuffed with new clothes and endless combinations of different head turning outfits. We played, we exercised, we talked, and we even cleaned our own cars, and it was all exciting to us.
It has been four years in a row that we have spent four days out of our lives in Heavenly. We have many pictures and scrap books from each trip to prove that we had tons of fun and relaxation. And best of all, each and every trip is never the same, from boys to shopping, there is a story to tell behind all. The best times of our lives were spent in our special place where the possibilities are endless and where the fun and excitement never ends.
