If in my area we had a Garden of the Righteous it would be for Martin Luther King Jr. Martin stopped something that haunted the United States of America since it was independent. He stopped the prejudice against blacks. Martin stuck up for all the African-Americans that were treated as lowly people. He even gave great speeches against racism, even though he was facing the same chauvinism as all the other blacks. I learned from Martin not to prejudge people before talking and to them and to ignore injustice myself
When Martin Luther King Jr. made his world famous speech about his dream, racism was finally was beginning to end.
Even though I want a Garden of the Righteous here at school, I'm sure there are numerous gardens, roads, streets, etc around the United States about Martin and his accomplishments.
There are other blacks that I could honor like Jackie Robinson the famous baseball player who defied the whites for a sport he wanted to play in.
Martin was inspired to do what he did because of Gandhi and his nonviolence acts. Now separatism is almost to an end and blacks can choose where to live. We still have a few black neighborhoods scattered about, but mostly separatism is all gone.
