You know, I've been putting off posting anything other than poetry for a while now. I decided today, that the day of thanks, was the most appropriate day to start.
We all have so much to be thankful for in this life, but it seems that most of us take the bulk of it for granted. God gave us this beautiful world to live in, yet we are so busy in the hustle and bustle of each day, that we sometimes forget to look up at the sky and see how blue and wide it is; the snow on the mountain tops elude us in our tunnel vision; the beauty of the light and heat of the sun as it warms and enlightens our world escapes us. There is so much beauty all around us, yet we do not even take notice.

I am thankful for my mother, who gave us life; the most beautiful person that I have ever known. I am thankful for the Earth, the beauty of nature and all that it brings to us, my incredible children, their children, the truly amazing friends both new and old that share our lives, for all of the love that has gone before in my life, and it's powerful emotion.
I am thankful for being employed, gainfully enough to put food on the table, keep a roof over our heads and the heat turned on. I am thankful for the food at my table today, as so many others go hungry.
I am thankful and hopeful, because we have a new president and are entering into a new era of change(hopefully for the better). Perhaps with the grace of God he can come up with a better plan than we've had for the past 8 years.
I am thankful for the gift of writing that God has given to me; my greatest outlet, the ability to share that gift with others and all of my new friends on Triond.
I am thankful for the darkness which allows me moments of rest at the end of one of God's beautiful days.
What are you thankful for?
Happy Thankskgiving!
