Why Cant the government stop illegal immigration? I believe illegal immigration is wrong and should be stopped. Immigration will impact the U.S. and its citizens in many ways. One of these ways is the U.S. could be impacted by illegal immigration economically. Another Impact would be a crime increase due to he immigrants. The last impact immigrants would have on the U.S. would be health and health care. With all of these reason I would hope to impact the view of illegal immigration. The top reason would be an economical impact.
The first reason is an economical impact from many illegal immigrants. One of the most important factors regarding public opinion about immigration is the level of unemployment. The more the Immigrants that come over to America the more the jobs that are going to be taken away from U.S. citizens. Also illegal immigrants Don't pay taxes, so therefore the immigrants are taking away from the legal citizens money that they pay for through taxes or other government donations by working for a U.S. job. Also the immigrants that use fake or stolen social security cards get caught it costs the government to prosecute or arrest the immigrant. When social security numbers are already in use like a stolen identity, the social security agencies put the earnings in a earnings suspense file and the stolen persons identity shows their too young or old to be working at this job the agencies spend millions fixing these problems. When these things happen the immigrants are arrested and are committing a crime.
As the illegal immigrant rates go up so will the crime rates. In San Diego, the county spends over $50 million in immigrant crime, Which was nine percent of the total county's budget for law enforcement that year. Another example that evolves immigrants is in 1995 sixty percent of the 20,000 members of the 18th Street Gang in Los Angeles was composed of illegal immigrants. Although that many immigrants are over here illegally this might give them a reason to keep clean with the cops, the crime rates have decreased slightly after the U.S. had buckled down on the border patrol. These immigrants have also increased the amount of drug smuggling due to the immigrant gangs using illegal immigrants from other countries than Mexico to smuggle drugs and illegal weapons from other countries. With the crime rates increasing and negative economical impacts the health rate has decreased.
The more and more immigrants that come across the border as aliens will have The Immigration and Naturalization Service continues to bring injured and ill illegal immigrants to the hospital without taking financial responsibility for their medical care. One health care association estimated that it would spend about $9.7 million on emergency medical aid services for unauthorized immigrants and that 80 percent of those costs would be for services associated with illegal childbirth. Many illegal immigrants on the health care system in the US have forced many hospitals to close due to unpaid bills. To reduce the risk of diseases in poor neighborhoods, the resolution has been the screening of immigrants on arrival. Prior to being awarded a green card, legal immigrants over the age of 15 must have a chest x-ray or skin test , Illegal aliens have not taken this test and are bringing in deadly diseases. In a test in 2003 nearly 26 percent of foreign-born TB patients in the United States were from Mexico, this making it important to take a TB test before entering the U.S.
With immigrants coming to the U.S. illegally they are making more problems than just being illegal. Many immigrants impact the U.S. economically not even knowing it, and the only way to fix this problem is to tighten up on the border patrol. Also illegal immigrants increase crime rates throughout the U.S. including gang related problems. Also the last problem is that the immigrants are bringing in deadly diseases coming to America without being tested for TB and related diseases. All together I do believe that the U.S. should close the borders to immigrants and the only way to get through is a thorough background check in the airports. So this closes the argument about illegal immigrants and is supported with strong facts.
