I found one penny…..just one penny. I picked it up and put in my pocket. Eventually, I noticed that whenever I did a good deed I happened to find a penny.
As I turned to look up into the sky to admire its beauty, I beheld various mansions. They were all up for sale and very beautiful. Though very costly, I began to ardently desire to possess one of my own. Yet, when I went to look at one the guard would not let me enter the mansion. The guard said that I was too dirty to enter the mansion and then he turned me away.
I was overcome with inconsolable grief at my inability to gain access to the mansion. I just wanted to behold the interior, but I was too dirty! Seeing me overcome with grief, the guard took pity on me and asked me to approach. I approached and was cleaned and dusted off. I was also given new clothes and was then permitted to enter the mansion. Upon entering the mansion, I was overcome with happiness, desire, and awe. I wished to go further, but I was not permitted to do so until I purchased the mansion. I was disappointed, but I left the mansion with a firm resolve to obtain the necessary sum to call the place my own.
With each passing day, I found at least one penny. The more things I did that profited another, the more pennies I happened to find. One day, I went to pick up a penny that I had spotted and will filled with pride at my find. The penny suddenly disappeared and I was filled with grief at my loss. I immediately resolved to never be proud of the pennies that I was collecting to purchase my beautiful mansion in the sky.
After quite a long period of time, I had the required sum of the desired mansion in the sky. I prepared myself with a thorough cleaning and new clothes. I took all my pennies to the owner of the mansion and asked to be allowed to purchase the beautiful mansion. I was embarrassed at the sight of the owner because I felt like a pitiful sight in his presence. A kind smile passed over the face of the owner as he beheld me and my huge amount of pennies. He allowed me to purchase the mansion and I was filled with happiness.
Upon entering the mansion, my joy knew no bounds. I was filled with an indescribable joy: a joy that can not be described, a joy that I had never experienced before. My happiness was filled to the brim and I was delighted for the rest of my unending days.
