Over Hill

The futility of war.

The sun rose high in the April sky,
as the pale fog lifted below
The bodies of the slain,
countless in vain,
emit a grievance untold
The battle that raged,
hatred engaged death to father and son
The conclusion was reached,
battle impeached,
and neither side had won.
