Roots

This tree reminds me of the extensions in my life. Though many would say the roots hold the past. The forefathers, the beginning. I guess that could be correct. If the root is actually stems from the seed, which without the tree would have never been. When you look at the tree standing strong and flourishing inspite of the cloudy skies that surround it it reminds me of the strong women God has placed in my life. Regardless of there situations,up and downs, somehow they always stood strong. Feeding on the roots of morals taught by their mothers, strength and courage rose in their soul. When knocked down by doubt and the ills of life their inner core stayed strong. Like the trunk of a tree damaged, but not broken, bruised on the outside but still growing and being nurtured within. Passing on knowledge to the generation that follows. Their leaves continue to bud. Showing the beauty of life to their off springs. As they wonder why their children choose to follow paths they'd suggested they not take. Praying their training will soon steer them away from the floods. If only they'd listen to the words that would further the extensions of life. A life created to flourish and grow. As there limbs grab hold of the sun, rain, and evening shade. Some branches sway with every breeze that blows. Others fall and are forever separated. Though all were taught, all don't seek wisdom. As seeds are dropped on the fertilized soil of life and sown in the face of adversity there love continues to grow. For it is not by their strength they stand but by the hand that hold the universe together. A tree planted in good soil shall never die.
