ROSES HAVE THORNS
Yes, Roses do have thorns.
BUT
Thorns - have roses!
Glorious things in life often grow barbs.
BUT
Barbs have Glorious things if only we would look for them!
Beauty fades, like this bunch of roses, all growing together, some are already dying.
If only we could focus our attention on the roses, as in this photo, and not on the thorns that are beneath and all up and down the stems. We need to remember that the thorns are there, or else we will feel them when one is embedded in our hand.
But, focus on the roses. Stop to smell a rose. De-stress yourself; study a flower for a few minutes. Take time to teach a small child to make a daisy chain. Walk bare-foot on the sand and dip your toes in the cold waters of the ocean. Take a snack and eat it in a tranquil woods or a deserted forest.
All of life would be so much more enjoyable if we would give our attention to tending the roses, removing the thorns, and setting those simple things of life, the free pleasures, in front of us so that we may delight in them and find deep satisfaction.
