What's going on with teenage girls these days? What happened to girls wanting to be successful in life? Now-a-days its like its all about sex and having babies. I just don't understand when its so much more to life. All these sexual diseases going around and teenage girls and guys are still having unprotected sex. What's up with that? Am I missing something? I know that it's their lives but its makes me so upset when a teenage girl especially a girl that has so much dreams to let it all get taken away at the blink of a eye. One mistake and you can kiss that future goodbye or you have to put it on hold to have a baby. But I don't understand how girls can get pregnant and then get scared, and realize that they can't provide for a baby at their age. Then want to have an abortion! No. Because I feel like if your grown enough to go out there and get pregnant then your grown enough to have a baby and provide for it. You have your whole life in front of you and you just want to throw it all away. Once you have a baby, your time is not yours no more. You can't go out with your friends when you want. Go to parties and have fun. I just don't understand how a girl can go out there and have sex with whoever she wants and think that just because she is on birth control and using a condom that she can't get pregnant. If they only knew. I'm a teenager myself and I'm a virgin. I have my whole life to have sex with guys. Right now I'm focusing on my school work and graduating. Then its like girls are just so dumb these days when it comes to guys. They let their hormones get the best of them. And guys they use them lines like if you love me then you would have sex with me? And if you love me you would do this? But think about if a girl has sex with a guy how does that prove that she loves him? Ever thought bout that? And that just proves how much he loves you because a guy that really loves you, he's not going to rush you into having sex with him. Or stay with you just for sex. He would wait until your comfortable and ready to take it to the next level. And it wouldn't bother him if you don't. You should never be pressured to have sex. Now I know that everybody don't want the same thing out of life. But I just wonder why girls would settle for something less like dropping out of school and getting pregnant. When there is so much more to life.
So true! I believe that part of the problem starts at home. With so many single parent families not knowing what thier girls are doing and not raising them with the proper moral values. Also, the media, television, movies, music videos produce so much sexual inuendos or giving the allusion that sex is okay with anyone anytime. It is a problem that is not going to go away any time soon. Good write! And good for you for being who you are!
