These are some of the random thoughts that roll around in my brain, things that make me go: “Hmmmmm….”

Some points that I have pondered about this crazy place we call Earth:
- What is the world coming to when people think that God is dead and Elvis is alive?
- Do you know anyone who always orders a diet soda to go with their donuts?
- How about those people who circle the parking lot to get the closest spot to the gym?
- Why is it that when I gain twenty pounds, I go up four dress sizes, but if I lose twenty pounds, I only go down one size?
- Ever notice that the crop which receives the most money, energy, and resources is a crop that no one eats - the grass on our North American lawns?
- Remember the theory that if you put a million monkeys in a room with a million typewriters, eventually they would produce the complete works of Shakespeare? This theory was supposed to explain evolution. I think that the World Wide Web is proof positive that this myth is busted.
- I also wonder how anyone could take the theory of evolution seriously. Scientists in laboratories working meticulously under controlled conditions have spent years and gazillions of dollars trying to manipulate genes to build a better mouse. What are the odds that random genetic mutations could possibly manage to start with an ameba and over the course of a few million years trade up to Homo sapiens?
- Witnesses in court are asked to put their hand on the Bible while they swear to tell the truth. Has anyone else noticed the irony that if they would open that Bible to James 5 verses 34-37, they would find these words:
“34 But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 Simply let your "Yes" be "Yes," and your "No," "No"; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.”
- What kind of schizophrenic society celebrates both Halloween and Christmas? Halloween is a celebration of all that is ugly and decayed and gross, while Christmas is a celebration of the sacred, beautiful, unselfish love of God. It always amazes me how quickly Walmart is able to make that transition on November 1. It amazes me even more how so many people celebrate both without noticing the dichotomy.
- Ever wonder if the laws of gravity change while we sleep? This could explain the grogginess and the confusion about which way is up
Well, those are some of the thoughts that I have thunk lately. Please keep in mind that I have recently undergone brain surgery, and I don't think that my neurosurgeon found all of the loose wires.
