Stress is Out and Calm is In

Giving some great tips on how not to be stressed. It tells you what to do while exercising and what not to do. It also goes into more detail about some of the things I mentioned in "I Think We're Paranoid".

Women and men in todays world are becoming more stressed, paranoid and worried over to small of things. It hasn't gotten any better nor will it unless the public does something about it! So what can one do to be less of all of these horrible things? Well for starters one needs to realize that they are either stressed, paranoid or worried way too often. Once that is figured out there are many steps to improve upon ones self. The first step is to exercise. Now I know everyone says that exercise is the key to “health, happiness and all of the above” but the truth is you need to find the right type of exercise to get things off your mind. Yoga is so relieving to people because most of the time you are concentrating on the instructor or on a vivid journey inside your head.

You, in other words, have gotten things off your mind without even realizing it! So pick something besides jogging or riding a bike alone (unless it is in a really intriguing area). Go to a class with an instructor or go to the gym with a friend. If you absolutely have to work out alone listen to a talk show or a book on tape so your mind doesn't wonder to those “oh so stressful things”. Secondly stop eating sweets! Did you know chocolate (an aphrodisiac) causes stress? It's true! So instead of picking up a candy bar pick up a handful of blueberries or some almonds. They not only fight the stress hormone but are a good dietary supplement as well. Remove all clutter from your home. Meaning get rid of all the papers pilled up on your desk, the random chair in the corner (with stains on it from before you can remember) and those gifts you hate but feel too bad to get rid of.

Your home needs to look clean in order for you to feel clean. If you need some motivation don't be afraid to ask for help. If you aren't too tight on money get rid of the old and come in the new! Reinvent yourself, whether it is clothes, furniture or books. Change something around. It will keep you entertained for quite some while. Take some vitamins while you are at it. Green tea vitamins gives you energy while St. Johns Wart gets you out of depression and gives you the “old pick me up”. Last but not least before you go to bed read a book with inspiring phrases in it. Pet your cat or dog and get mesmerized while staring at a fish tank. You need not be stressed anymore!

This is great advice. I thought dark chocolate was good for you (if not overdone), but hadn't heard it causes stress. And I do get rid of the clutter and exercise to my favorite shows (like Dr. Phil). Great advice.

Good advice, but are you sure about the chocolate? I thought dark chocolate in moderate amounts relieved stress. I could be wrong, though.
