AuthSpot > Thoughts

This is Your Site

Your place to be seen and heard (or at least read). Post pretty much any thing, and have it seen by pretty much anyone.

A penny for your thoughts. Get your two cents in. Speak your mind. Say what's up. You have the right to be heard. Say what you want, but mean what you say. Get the idea?

This site is a site for people who do not have their own site, or maybe they do, either way, they just want to reach others. This site gives anyone, and everyone a chance to have their say, and to let others see it in a public way. No membership, no registration required. Just post your thoughts or opinions below and share them with the world. Comments are posted instantly. Check back to respond to comments made about your comment.

You can write about anything, the weather, the color of the sky, or your new shoes. You can write about your new dog, your ex lover, or your last dinner. Feel free to make social commentaries. Write about high gas prices, low gas prices, or how eating beans gives you gas. Tell us about your house, your work, your pet, your favorite color. Write about something happy, or something sad, vent! Tell the world how you feel, share information freely.

Tell a secret, predict the future, share the past. Run with it, have fun with it. Speak out for social or political change. What kind of computer is the best? What kind of software is the worst? What movie did you just watch, who is your favorite band? What is the best band-aid? Educate! Respond to peoples' responses to you!

Rules

No insulting of other users. In other words you cannot say that "so and so" is an idiot. If you want to make a comment about something they said, base it on facts, not name calling. I will delete insulting comments.

No posting HTML to links other than those from this site.

Try to keep it under 100 words, this is not so much of a rule as a request. Anything ridiculously long will probably be deleted. Especially if it is needless rambling, you all know what needless rambling is right? It's really annoying when a person goes on and on, after already making the point. Why repeat the point over and over, after a while people stop listening. So keep it short and sweet. Or even short and bitter, just keep it short.

No personal information, such as addresses, phone numbers, and such, shall be allowed.
Finally if you think your comment is in poor taste, it probably is,so, think of something better.

People should eat more Free Range eggs, and complain less about what "Free Range" should mean and what it does mean. Anything is better than the nasty conditions battery hens live in

Trying to teach my son how to memorize the times tables is challenging! Especially when he allready has so much homework! Anyone have any ideas to make this easier? He is 10 years old and needs to learn them quickly because his math grade is dropping alarmingly fast. I think the hardest part is getting him to sit down ( or stand up) and work on it. Now his teacher is going to start a contract where all unfinished work will have to be done at home on top of his homework. Help!!! Please!

To Christy Tuller re Times Tables
they are tough, I made a game to remember the 9 times.
because if 9x6 for example, okay you would go one less than 6 which is 5.. and what does 5 need till it equals 9?? it needs a 4 so the answer is 54, so 9x6 = 54 if that helped.

Our economic political and social systems are so enormously complex and are all failing. And if we keep on living according to those failing systems we will fail right along with them.
Globalisation is probably the single most unsustainable idea \'they\' have ever had, and we seem to be falling for it hook line and sinker.
Far from Globalising our economic structures, we need to LOCALISE! Localise everything - from education to food production to energy generation. We need to do these things for ourselves in small communities and townships (yes, we can have townships within cities!) if we\'re going to survive as a species and if we\'re not going to destroy this beautiful planet which provides us our living.
We HAVE to stop relying on outside organisation to provide for our needs.

It\'s time for a wholesale change in the way we approach our lives.
We HAVE to stop letting \'them\' tell us how it is and instead let them know how it\'s going to be from now on. They only have power authority over our lives if we allow them to. Their fruits (by which we shall know them) are rotten!
Time to turn our back on \'their\' unsustainable (the very kindest word I can use about \'them\') ways a develop new (actually ancient but I wont go into that now) ways of meeting our own, very simple, needs.

They have conned us into handing them more and more power and wealth, into buying (literally) into systems which create imbalance upon imbalance - from environmental to economic. We know now, what they have done (or if we don\'t we\'re just not concentrating!). Are we going to allow it to continue until it destroys us all or are we simple going to opt out of their systems and develop our own?
