There is a difference between pain and misery: “Pain is mandatory, misery is not !” -- Jody and Rich
Regardless of your point of view as to religion, there is no debate as to difference between pain and misery. Ernst Kinney, a well known local defense lawyer, recently passed from this life. And in the face of death, he demonstrated the point of this “Thought for Today.” The day before he died, and he knew he was dying, he ordered $90 worth of Chinese food and invited friends and family to his home. Kinney chose to celebrated his life rather than mourn his own death.
That sort of thing does not happen without a little forethought. “Morbid!” you say. Not really. Death and taxes are two unavoidable realities. We cannot avoid either but we do have a say as to just how much the two realities will effect our lives. We can find ourselves ahead of the game if we roll the pain of living into our personal goals for life. Or you can scream your objections and nothing more. The choice is yours. Pain is mandatory but misery is not.
