The Rains - a Sonnet
by JoWo, Nov 26, 2008
My adopted homeland, the Philippines, is a tropical country and the largest island, Luzon, has distinct seasons. Often, the dry season, from December till June has no rain at all. As you can imagine the grass is brown by this time since the watershed is shrinking fast, way beyond the reach of small plants. It begins to look like a desert and the heat and humidity become oppressive. You will appreciate the joy that greets the first rains of the rainy season, as I do.

My family's experiences during the worst tragedy that has ever befallen my hometown, the city of Pagadian. The Creepy Mausoleum
by Bugsey, Jul 22, 2008
There lies the body of Ferdinand Marcos in wax. Shades of Mao Tse Tung except that it seems he's beginning to rot. It's no longer funny because he's body seems to be in need of "servicing" as some complain that he's beginning to smell. If anyone had any sense of decency, he should be buried.
